How ya doing? How ya doing ? How ya doing?
What I am seeing with my clients is movement! They are seeing what their blocks are and are sick of doing things the same old way. They are ready to do it differently and boom they are making changes. These are lessons. Lessons to grow and now is the best time ever to see your lessons, take them head on and grow!!! Seriously now is the time, when things are upside down with the pandemic and racism is being uncovered in our system. Learning and growing and taking on your blocks doesn’t decrease the importance of those things. Not at all. You can incorporate those things as part of your growing. Do things differently. Don’t let those things stop you from doing you. From your path, your dreams, your life. You can help people and be a change maker, even more successfully when you are doing what you are meant to be doing, fully!!! Let’s get that energy up. Move, breath, take action and grow through this so from now on your life is going to look different, better, exciting, inspiring. Your blocks won’t be your blocks anymore. If you are feeling low energy, discouraged, sad, because of the current events and politics and that has stopped you in your tracks. Please call me or email to set up a free ½ hour discovery session to “see” if coaching can help you move through this so you can feel joy, hope, excitement and possibility. Being set in our patterns at a time like this, when globally there is so much uncertainty can make us buy into the doom and gloom but what good is that? We need you. We need your voice and what you have to offer. Let’s rewrite the pattern and get you dusted off and jumping up and down so you can be the light you were meant to be!!! If you or someone you know needs this please share this and let’s start feeling better, shifting the energy and making a change. Now! Changing ourselves will change the world.

What does it mean to be comfortable with the uncomfortable?
To be ok, really ok with what is going on around us. The Chaos, change, transition, transformation and so forth that is happening out there is a mirror of change, chaos, transition and transformation within us. Are we ok with not knowing, YET, what the “new” will look like? Are we ok being in the process? The discovery? The path, the journey and the trip we have to take to the next level of existence? If we are stressing, focusing on the negative, the doom, it shouldn’t be happening (i.e. the judgement of what is), then we are not ok. Being not ok here will result in more not ok-ness. To stay healthy and well during times like this we must do whatever it takes to get to the comfort. It is physical comfort and mental comfort. The dictionary defines comfort as: “a state of physical ease and freedom from pain or constraint, things that contribute to physical ease and well being, the easing or alleviation of a person’s feeling of grief or distress.” How do we bring in EASE when we are in distress? The tool box! This is where it is our job as human beings to fill this tool box with healthy, sustainable and creative ways to bring about ease and comfort when we are in distress. Why do I say sustainable ways? Eating a pint of ice cream, drinking, etc. are not sustainable. They create a false sense of ease. They create a covering over the discomfort and then when the cover is lifted there is an even greater sense of discomfort (guilt, shame, etc). So what are ways to foster comfort when we are in uncomfortable times?
When you have created that feeling of ease, that all is well, then you can ask yourself, “what good can come from this?” Answers will come to you. This will be the new way of being for yourself and for the community at large. The more of us that can do this the more answers will appear, the quicker we will “get it” and be able to tip the point of transition. This little video, My Ode to Summer Solstice, is a tribute to my teacher, Guru Singh. He has led thousands of us up and around and over and down the mountain at 3am to this most beautiful wake up song for more than 4 decades.
My first trip up the mountain was in the 90’s. It was a challenge and a growth spurt. Memories that will last a lifetime. I was alone in my tiny tent, I wrote a book during the silence, I breathed, I cried, I sweated, it rained and hailed and was over 100 degrees. Over the years highlights have been Tantric burgers and popcorn with yummy Flavors, lemon ginger aid and yogi tea, working in the kitchen, the moon, the smell, singing and dancing with Guru Ganesha Singh, the sounds, the air, the wind, the rain, the heat, setting up the the tent, finding a lost jake at the watermelon table, hearing of the death of our beloved runty (bunny) only to turn around and boom there was Guru Singh for the hug, helping in kids camp, doing a day of tantric with sadie and at the end of it, “mom can I do it with you again tomorrow?!!!!!!” I chanted, bonded and mostly grew. So from isolation I honor the mountain, the event, the wondrous summer solstice. And thank you Guru Singh for this most amazing wake up song and event that is alive in me everyday…..rise up dear family...rise up. Now it takes on the deeper meaning of rising up, awakening to this age of transformation. This is the time for all of us to go within, to grow, to listen and change as this global shift is happening to create the new way. The time is now, the tipping point is here. Please join this global meditation (with millions) at www.sionearth.com with Michael Beckwith and others leading for an hour long, #onetribe, raise your vibration meditation. It will be on the solstice june 21, 4pm pst. This is a marathon folks. But I feel that the time is now for real shifts to happen. Shifts in so many ways need to happen. We are being pushed against the wall by mother nature, education, health care, racism. Our old ways of being and doing aren't sustainable. We didn’t listen to the whispers or loud voices so now we are here. Waking up, awakening. From my perspective as a white person, it is a real time to listen, to see behind the veil of what we thought was changing, to what is the harsh reality. We are all different ages and stages but seeing even in our lifetime Rodney King, 911, George Floyd (and many more) just proves the need to do things differently.
In coaching I am always working with clients to Look, See, Tell the truth and then take Authentic action. The time we are in can be a perfect example of this. We have all been Looking without really Seeing. Now we are Seeing. It is so different to really SEE. If you need help Seeing I would direct you to watch or read Jane Elliott (she is absolutely brilliant at breaking this down so you can “see” it). Also recommended are “How to be an Anti-Racist” by Ibram X. Kendi (audible or book) and or the podcast that Brene Brown did with him to get you started. The movie, “Just Mercy” based on the book by the same name is free this whole month from Warner Brothers on every platform or read the book by Bryan Stevenson (and Oprah has an amazing interview with him, it is on my Facebook page). These are just a few ways to SEE. What I love about Anti-Racism is that Ibram is showing us that being a non-racist isn’t really a thing. This isn’t about guilt and shame for us, as white people, but an acknowledgement of where we are, a deep listening, a hearing, a seeing, a true uncovering and admitting that there are systemic racist policies that are at the heart of this country that we need to get behind to shift, for all of us, for everyone to be able to eventually move forward. So similar to the stages of grief there are stages to change (shock, numbness, denial, fear, anger, depression, understanding, acceptance, moving on). This is a long process but don’t get stuck in a stage. Keep walking through, keep learning and growing and practicing self care to keep you strong and healthy so that you can withstand this time of change. The time is now to shift this. Let this be our legacy, that we gave a helping hand in shifting the United States in 2020 to a New way of being. So when we look back on this time in 10/20 years we will be so grateful that we took the time to really See and tell the truth which then led to moving authentically forward into a new way of being an American. We can do this. We are up to this. We need each other and we are in this together. |
