Well, here we are. Entering into June. Every day is a new situation, a new unknown, an unpredicted, unchartered event, a pile of information or just a shocking piece of news. No matter what it is, it is out of our control and that can leave us reeling. How can we manage this? How can we stay strong and healthy and “OK” in the midst of all that is happening?
Here are 5 ways to help navigate your way through these times.
When you get to a certain age you can look back and see the journey . . . some of it makes sense. Some of the pain and lessons have enough distance to show the path that they put us on. Some lessons are still revealing themselves as we move through it, forward.
We know intellectually that we aren’t guaranteed any specific amount of time for this journey. For this human experience. When something hits, like this global situation, it shines a light on that. People of any age, stage, pre-existing conditions, or none . . . can come abruptly to the end of their journey. So when we see that up-close and personal it can open another door to our awareness. Awareness of what we are doing and who we are being. Who are you willing to be going forward? Are you willing to take action despite the monkey mind that may show up? It might be comparison or excuses, self doubt or judgements, either-or thinking. It will be your Achilles heel.
It is different for each one of us. Usually when it shows up strongly it actually means you are on to something, peeling another layer of your onion and it is the willingness to continue on in spite of this inner commentary that will enable you to continue on your hero’s journey. Can you do it? Yes! You can. Take it easy, take care of yourself, be patient, loving, kind, gentle to yourself AND keep going. We need you to do what only you can do. Please do it!!! Who are you willing to be going forward?
How are you? Really, how are you?
So much information, misinformation, people complying, people rebelling, protesting, theories, opinions, guesses, ahhhhhhhhh WTF! Has your brain had it with this moment? I think everyone on the planet has had it. The key to our sanity is how long do you dwell there? Really.
This is such a trap for sucking our energy, our life force. The life force that keeps us physically healthy, mentally healthy and leading from love and kindness. My wish for everyone is that they are taking time to walk quietly, drink tea, plant plants, keep some space that was gained, that was rediscovered while we had to be at home. To keep some of that as we move forward.
This is the Aquarian age. The lights have been turned on, things are being exposed, great shifts will occur and need to occur. I hope you gained some personal clarity during this time. That you see what is important and what isn’t, that taking care of yourself demands a new level of commitment. If you are feeling rattled or anxious and worried. Please reach out. I am here. Yes it is! Especially in times like these when it's easy to spiral and let Monkey Mind take over. Coaching, yoga, and meditation are the tools that stop that spiral and shift your thoughts from what isn’t serving you to what is. Like going to the gym for your brain.
Why is this important?
Because everything starts in your brain. We think something and that causes a chain reaction. Sometimes that is a good thing and sometimes it isn’t. It is too important to leave it to happenstance. We have to create the ability to shift what we are thinking so that the chain reaction is energizing, motivating, healthy, intuitive and growth inducing. Does this mean that you will never feel sadness, frustration, discouragement, fear, worry, doubt, pain etc.? No. We are human and we will feel those feelings. We will be in situations that bring about all sorts of mental and emotional turbulence. However, it is the ability to move through it, being present to it, and allow, and observe so that we don’t get stuck there. That is where the tools of coaching and meditation come in to play. To work on your mind everyday. It doesn’t have to be long but it needs to be consistent. So that when something powerful comes into your space you are ready to face it, see it, allow it to move through you. Then you can emerge on the other side of it stronger, more powerfully YOU and having grown.
That is why I am doing my Coaching Circle. To support, encourage and instill this everyday practice into your life so that during these times and ALL times you can stay in the center of yourself and not be thrown over the edge of the boat.

As some towns and countries begin to ease restrictions while others are in complete chaos, infighting about rights, masks and distancing what is needed now more than ever is the ability to see and then unsee. In yoga we talk about this a lot.
Seeing, not sticking your head in the sand, yet then "unseeing" and allowing yourself to continue on your path without the drag of this observation. What am I talking about? Well, if we are to continue on with our pursuits without the drag of extreme worry and fear we must be able to do this so we are not caught in the pervasive energy of this circumstantial situation. I can feel this energy so strongly and I have to up my practice.
Being consistent, continuous and committed to my higher good is what I know to be crucial in these times. It is the only way forward. Otherwise we will be caught in this chaos and pulled over so to speak into a cul-de-sac, stalled out.
