Clarity in the Season of Transition

   Well, some of us have back-to-schoolers, some have dropped kids at college, some have grown kids that are off on their own, and some of you don’t even have kids … this time of year can feel like a reset and a time to take action before the crazy holidays start. I know that sounds nuts but I was in a store and they had Halloween stuff out, yikes!!!! So let’s crank it up and finish this year off with a bang.
   This time of year also reminds me of one of my favorite sayings:

   Clarity is such a catalyst for change and growth. When we can see clearly, we have more courage to take the steps and the action that is calling us. To get clear on something that seems overwhelming or confusing you can try: 

• Doing the meditation (choose any of those I’ve shared) or pick a meditation of your choice. Have a journal next to you. When you are finished, immediately write whatever comes to mind for 10 minutes. Stream of consciousness, don’t edit or correct it. Just blurt it out. If fear, doubts, worries come up about the situation then write them all!!! Don’t worry if they seem “negative” etc...don’t judge your thoughts, spit it out, in coaching we call it, “coughing it up.”
• Get it all out. When you think you have it all out ask yourself is there anything else? Really dig into the bottom of the barrel and purge. This will release energy that has been leaked from the worry, overwhelm maybe even procrastination.
• Observe your energy. Is it different? What are you observing now? Is there clarity? Do you “see” what you are either going to do or stop doing? If there is clarity write it down!!! Really. You might not remember it later when the monkey mind rears its ugly head again.
• Write it down and read the clarity that has emerged. Write a small sweet, small, I repeat small, do-able action that you can take toward that clarity. And do it today. Yes, today. Take this with you and read it a few times a day. If other actions emerge as you re-read it, then add those actions and do one a day.

   This clarity is the beginning, step by step; small action by small action, that can lead you in the direction that you may have been too scared, overwhelmed, worried, or freaked out about to take (even though you are willing to do it because it is important to you). 
   Let’s do it!!! Time is precious and sweet. Let’s take advantage of our time here and make the most of it!
